Inline Skates Recommended for Beginners
Skates in this collection are popular options for beginner inline skaters.
Most of the skates in this section are hard shell boots with 80mm wheels. The supportive boots and low ride height make them relatively easy to balance on for more basic levels of skating, and the 80mm wheel size has a tighter turning radius which will feel more natural to control initially.
Some options in this section have up to 90mm wheels for those who want to focus more on longer distance skating. Beginner skaters can appreciate how larger wheels will sustain your momentum more easily, and provide more stability forward-to-backward due to its longer frame. However they can be a bit more difficult to learn how to move and control naturally.
We have also capped the price point for our recommendations in this collection. Many higher end skate options also work well for beginners. If you are new to skating and looking for higher end options please shop our General Purpose skate section. Skates in that section embody the the general purpose versatility that works well for most beginners as well.
All of these skates either have the heel brake installed, included in the box or available for purchase separately.
